How to enable Arabic support in OpenOffice

Information This how-to is based on OpenOffice 2.4 and works with 3.1.

To enable arabic support in OpenOffice, open the Tools menu in the menu bar, and choose Options. you’ll get something similar to the screen shot bellow:

Expand the Language Settings tree, and click on Languages. Change your configuration options so that they match the circled ones bellow:

* selecting Arabic (Saudi Arabia) is completely optional. choose the language you want to support.

Click OK and a two new options will appear on the lowest tool bar: left-to-right & right-to-left. you can now set text direction!
